Walking for Matt & Tim

Heather, Val and Jenny are walking to raise money for special equipment needed for Matt & Tim, who both have cerebral palsy and are wheelchair users.

Matt and Tim are teenage twins and in High School where they like to be involved in sporting activities, however, the wheelchairs that the NHS provide are extremely, heavy, cumbersome and difficult to self propel.

Matt has been selected for the Blackpool Junior Athletics where he will be representing the Eastern Region throwing the javelin ball etc. He regularly attends sports club at his school, and is in The Boccia League, therefore he needs a sports type wheelchair for competing.

Their mother has difficulty loading and unloading two heavy wheelchairs twice daily into the family car.

Both boys are so very proud that we are walking for them and cannot thank us enough, they only wish that they were able to join us.

Tim and Heather abseiled down Cruachan Dam in Scotland in November 2006, with the help of BBC Scotland and Oban Mountain Rescue Team http://www.obanmrt.co.uk/ A very proud moment for Tim.
